The firm known today as The Tillery Firm has changed names often during its over 20 year history.  Founded as The Law Firm of Tommy J. Smith in 1997, the firm handled criminal defense, personal injury, workers’ compensation, social security disability, and family law matters.  Around 2000, growth of the firm necessitated a new partner and the firm changed names to Smith & Cannon, P.C.   In 2003, the firm changes back to a variation of its original name, Tommy J. Smith & Associates, P.C.  The firm changed names again in 2013 to Smith & Tillery, P.C.  In 2020,  upon the election and appointment of Tommy J. Smith to Middle Circuit Superior Court Judge, the firm changed names to The Tillery Firm.

Blake Tillery grew up in Toombs County, attended Toombs Central, and graduated from Vidalia High School in 2002.  He graduated from the University of Georgia with degree in International Affairs and earned his juris doctorate there in 2010.  Blake is very involved in our local community having served on various regional commissions, local fundraising endeavors, community projects, and was the former chairman of the county commission. He currently serves Georgia’s 19th district in the Georgia Senate where he chairs the Appropriations Committee. Blake is married to Dr. Ashlee Nicole Tillery, an OBGYN, and they reside in Vidalia.

Today, The Tillery Firm focuses on personal injury, social security disability, workers compensation, civil litigation, corporate matters, probate matters, and real estate closings.
